Melrose High cross country team ready to let loose

 

 

 

 

The Melorose High Girls Cross-country team appears to be ready to run rampant this season. Coach Suzanne Corbett’s club came into its own in 2011 finishing 6-1 last year. The Red Raiders narrowly missed a perfect season by just two seconds, while ultimately settling for a share of a share of the Middlesex League Small Division Championship with Wakefield. Although the team graduated some of its top talent, such as April Drafts-Johnson, Hannah Singleman, Katie Cosman, and state finalist Kelli Halligan, don’t expect the team to fall back on its heels this season. Quite the contrary, Corbett is convinced that she may have her strongest squad yet.  “The entire team has been working hard and we should be ready,” said Corbett, in her 11th year at the helm.  “We are looking forward to a fun, competitive and exciting season.
