Throughout her outstanding high school career, Maegan Doody has had a penchant for rising to the occasion whenever she competes in a high-level meet.
The Oyster River demonstrated that again on Saturday at Connecticut's Willow Brook Park.
For the third time in as many weeks, Doody clocked a time of 4:47 in a 1,600m race. Her latest effort, a 4:47.93 clocking, earned her the individual title at the New England Championships. It was the New Hampshire runner's fourth New England crown (indoor, outdoor track).
Doody beat a quality field that included second-place finisher Jessica Drop of Coginchaug (CT), who was timed in 4:49.47. The Oyster River standout was also sixth in the 800m at 2:11.72.
Doody, who won her state's 1,600m and 800m titles last week, talked with MileSplit CT after the meet. Also, check out below all the other top performances by NH athletes.
