Athletes To Watch: Meg Hughes, Old Rochester
As a ninth-grader last spring, the Bulldog standout shocked the competition by winning the individual 400-meter title when she clocked a nearly two-second best of 56.56. She improved on that time slightly when she placed third at the New England Championships with a time of 56.55. Hughes will certainly be tested in her specialty this season with sub 57-second runners such as Milton's Elise O'Leary and Wellesley's Abby Comella also coming back.
