What a weekend for Kentucky at New Balance Outdoor Nationals. Two All-American finishes, a Emerging Elite Champion & Runner-Up and a Freshman Race Runner-Up. More evidence of Kentucky getting stronger on the national scene.
Wow! That is about the only word that can describe VA teams bringing home eight national titles, two state records, and even a national record in the shuttle hurdle relay. Kentucky's Patrick Gregory and Henry Clay's 4x200m Relay team both earned All-American honors at New Balance Outdoor Nationals over the weekend.
Three days of action packed track and field took over Greensboro, North Carolina for the New Balance Outdoor National Championship. The Sunshine State crowned two champions in the Miami Northwestern 4x100m Relay and Karimah Davis in the Emerging Elite girls 200 meters, while several earned All-American honors, and numerous athlets came home with new personal bests!
It's easy to argue that no high school athlete in the Lowcountry was better at his or her discipline this year than Burke's Raven Saunders was at hers. (via Post and Courier)

Virginians did not waste anytime this Saturday as they lit up the track in the relays winning four national titles with the baton and one national title in the jumps. Leading the way for these performances was Western Branch's A shuttle hurdle relay squad, we do have to denote that this is the "A" squad because their "B" squad finished as the national runners-up. This team comprised of Funlayo Oluwole, Irielle Little, Milan Parks, and Ebony White ran a national record 56.55 to win the event.
Two national records were set in early action on Saturday at the New Balance Nationals with the Columbia girls anchored by a 2:06 split from Olivia Baker taking down the 1600 meter sprint medley relay national record in a remarkable time of 3:50.82, while Bailey Roth from Colorado not only defended his New Balance Nationals in the steeplechase, but took down a long standing US high school boys record of 23 years old at the 2K distance as he cleared all the barriers for 5 laps onto a time of 5:41.67.
