Libby of Dirigo is the top returner from a year ago, he finished fourth as a freshman while Crocker 6th & Wilkins 7th are the next fastest returners. All three were freshman a year ago.

Boothbay has joined a co-op team with Wiscasett this fall and appears to be the favorite to repeat as champions. They finished 5 points in front of the Greyhounds of Lisbon in the last MVC regular season meet. The key appears to be Boothbay-Wiscasett's 5th runner Ryan Russell who finished three seconds behind Lisbon's 6th runner Max Boulet last week.

On the girls side the MVC preview meet saw Boothbay senior Faith Blethen win the preview meet for the fourth consecutive year. This fall for the second straight year her sister Glory was the runner-up. The duo expects to be at the head of the pack on Saturday.

Faith Blethen has twice on won the MVC XC Championship title, she didn't run a year ago, so she's hoping to go out on top on last time. Along with her sister they are the only harriers in the conference to run under 21 minutes for 5k this fall. Faith having a best of 20:44, while Glory's best in 20:55.

On the team side Monmouth Academy was best at MVC Preview meet as they tallied 38 points to best Boohtbay-Wiscasset by 11 points. They two teams matched up last week with almost an identical score with Monmouth scoring 38 and Boothbay-Wiscassett scoring 46. The advantage Monmouth has in their depth they put their fifth runner in before the 3rd best runner from Boothbay-Wiscassett.
