Multis-Star Sterling Lester Inks With Georgia

The University of Georgia wrangled up one of the top recruiting classes in the Class of 2018 even before it signed the most prolific girls multis athlete on Wednesday.

So was this the icing on the cake for the Bulldogs, recently crowned NCAA Division I indoor track and field champions?

There's little doubt.

Georgia's explosive recruiting class only got better after the inking of Marietta (GA) High's Sterling Lester, who's coming off a ridiculous 5,288 point effort to win the Arcadia Multis on April 6 in California. She also owns national-level marks like this: US No. 5 in the 100mH (13.78), US No. 16 in the 200m (24.16) and US No. 3 in the 400m (53.37).

For good measure, Lester is highly proficient in the long jump, high jump and in the throws.

She joins a signing class that includes the top male multis-athlete in 2018, Germantown Academy (PA) High's Kyle Garland, and a program that historically has been well versed in developing versatile talents like Kendall Williams, last year's NCAA outdoor champion and a three-time national winner in the heptathlon. Williams was also a four-time winner of the pentathlon indoors and was a 2016 Olympian for Team USA.

The Bulldogs were runner-ups at the 2017 outdoor track and field championships,
