National Boys Performer Of The Week (4-9/4-15)

It was a race to the finish for two of Colorado's finest distance runners last week.

Broomfield (CO) High's Michael Mooney, a recent Colorado State signee, garnered 47 percent of the national vote last week after his sterling performance at Arcadia in the 3200m.

And with it, Mooney, who currently holds a US No. 1 mark in the 3200m after his time of 8:50.96 -- Canadian Marcus Kemp leaned past Mooney at the line for the win -- won National Performer of the Week after edging super sophomore Cole Sprout of Valor Christian, who ran a then-US No. 11 time of 4:12.75 in the 1600m and received 42 percent of the vote.

Congratulations go out to Mooney, who began his spring track season in a very big way.

But can Sprout claim national honors this week?

In back-to-back weeks Sprout has posted incredible efforts.
