New Balance Indoor Grand Prix Junior Girls' Mile Preview

Marissa Sheva (Pennridge, PA)

Mile PR: 4:50.73 (indoors)
Mile SB: 4:50.73

After locking up the first Millrose Games High School Mile auto qualifier back in December at the Bishop Loughlin Games, the soccer star has stayed relatively quiet. Sheva ran a personal best 4:50.73 to win that race straight from a cross country campaign that saw her qualify for her first Foot Locker Nationals berth. She took time off during the holidays and her sole race of 2015 was a second-place, 10:23 effort for 3k at the Kevin Dare High School Invitational. It was not a close battle, as Mady Clahane won in US #2 9:59.4. Sheva still holds the US #2 spot on the Mile national leaderboard behind Frazier - but is she still in her December shape? She was runner-up in this race last year and will be burning to go for the win.
