Cheverus sprinter Jake Dixon took his talent to New Hampshire this weekend to compete in the Dartmouth Relays, the senior was the top seed in the 300m, and he backed it up with a victory. Dixon faced off against NH star Zakari Jenkins as the two were neck and neck heading into the final 100m, Dixon showed great strength as he was able to pull away to stop the clock at 35.50, Jenkins was second in 36.0. Dixon's time was a Maine all-time best for the distance, as he took .02 off Cam Cormier's record, set back in 2007.

In the shot put, South Portland Daniel Guiliani showed he enjoys the competition of the big meets as the junior once again showed he's a big meet performer as he threw a personal best 58-7 1/2 to win. With the meet won, Guiliani unleashed his personal best throw on his final attempt, the mark broke the school record of George Libby (58-0 1/2) set back in 1974. His throw currently ranks him 10th in the country after this weekend's action.

In the 600m, Deering star Hany Ramadan showed off his great speed and strength as he led the field through the first 400m in 53, before powering away from the field to break the tape in 1:23.63.


Scarborough's Griffin Madden had a breakthrough performance in the 55m hurdles, the junior won his prelim in 8.13, then advanced to the final with his first sub 8 performance of his career with a 7.95 second place effort in section 2. In the final Madden continued his fast hurdling as he stopped the clock at 7.87 to finish second. His effort is the fastest time in the state this winter. Also scoring was Deering junior Paolo DeMarco who was 6th in 8.12, in the prelims DeMarco ran 8.01 a new personal best.

In the triple jump Michael Cuesta of South Portland had a strong performance as he got out to a best of 44-4 to finish second. Cuesta's effort was just off his seasonal best.

Sam Rusak of Scarborough cleared a personal best 14-6 to finish third in the pole vault, Rusak's effort improved his state leading mark. Deering's 4x400 behind a 49.1 split from Hany Ramadan came from way back in section 2 to finish 4th overall in a state leading 3:36.99.

Jacob Schott of Cheverus scored in two individual events, as he tied the state lead in the high jump with his 6-2 clearance, that marks put him atop all Class A jumpers. He also was 6th in the triple jump with a 41-10 effort good for 6th.


In girls action Tori Daigle of Thornton Academy was the top finisher overall for Maine girls as the senior finish as the runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 17-6 3/4. She also made the final in the 55m hurdles as she clocked a state leading 8.83 in the prelims, she would finish 7th in the final.

Waterville's Kellie Bolduc had a strong day in the triple jump as she jumped a seasonal best 35-7 to place 5th overall. The mark is the Class B leader, and state #2 performance.

Cheverus quarter miler Sarah Mount finished 2nd in section 2 which was good enough to place 6th overall with a new indoor personal best of 62.27, that marks currently ranks her in a tie for the Class A lead. Westbrook's Brittany Arsenault was 7th overall in 62.42.

Freshman Anna Slager of Gorham ran with great poise in the second section of the girls seeded mile, battling for the win throughout. She would finish 8th overall and 2nd in her section with a new personal best and state leading 5:21.17.

In the seeded 2 mile, Waterville's Lauren Brown lowered her state leading time down to 11:44.88 with an 11th place finish.
