PELHAM – There was a slight delay in the awards presentation after yesterday’s Division II track and field championships while the public address announcer waited for the girls from Milford to go and receive their runner-up plaque. So Coe-Brown was forced to wait.
They were huddled, they were smiling, they were holding each other back until their name was called. But, really, what were a few more seconds – especially when this was a moment a full spring season in the making?
“We could taste this from an early point,” said Brent Tkaczyk, who joined Tim Cox and David Zink-Mailloux in coaching the Bears. “That’s something that you don’t want to talk a lot about, but we could taste it right away.”
